Without dressage judges, there are no dressage competitions.
Dressage Ireland has over 60 Listed judges who perform this vital role. These judges are trained and examined by Dressage Ireland to ensure quality scoring and feedback for competitors.
Dressage Ireland judges possess a wealth of knowledge and can help you and your horse progress by providing a critical eye on the ground with commentary on your performance. With regard to scores, the judge's decision is final.
If you are interested in becoming a Dressage Ireland Judge, please refer to the page How to Become a Judge.
Judges rely on good scribes to record their scores and commentary. Scribes are vital to dressage competitions and need to be disciplined and write clearly. If you would like to volunteer as a scribe at competitions, please contact your region or show organisers to get involved.
